From your first day at the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science you will be learning field skills that can be put to use immediately. Many of our students use this knowledge to find degree-related summer jobs after only their first year of classes!
All three of our undergraduate degrees are aligned with existing certification programs. This means that after graduating, you are qualified to apply for professional certification in your area of study.
If you are unsure of which major to select, there is flexibility in our programs. This allows you to get an idea of the opportunities within each major before choosing one.
In First-Year Seminar class, professionals from many areas are brought in to discuss their careers. Government, private industry and independent consultants are represented.
Unique learning opportunities exist within our program too. As First-year students living in the residence halls you have an opportunity to join the Learning Community, where you live in the same hall with other students in your major. By living, eating, attending class and studying with other students in your major, you have the advantage of a built-in support system and learning environment. You will also spend 14-weeks at our Ford Center in the fall of your junior year during your field practicum.
A $1000 assistantship is available to you as an incoming student your first year at our School. Our Learn and Earn program puts you to work immediately working with one of our faculty members by assisting them with their research. You earn money for college and valuable real-life research experience. |
