Reunion 2001 Highlights
Over
100 people stopped by the FRES on August 3, 2001 to make our reunion
celebration a great success. Our first-ever chili cook-off was
a great experience. The cook-off featured three unique and delicious
chili variations. Jim Schmierer (School Forester) made his award-winning
Three-Alarm
Beefy Chili. Maria Pregitzer (FRES Instructor) impressed the
crowd with Chili-Verde,
a chicken-tomatilla-green chili soup. Carnivores, omnivores and
herbivores alike devoured Professor Peg Gale's Vegetarian
Chili and then voted hers number one, crowning her the 2001
FRES Chili Champ. All three unique chili recipes were so delicious
there were NO leftovers! It's not too early to volunteer to be
a chili chef for next year. If you are interested in attending
and preparing your secret recipe, let us know. Click on the name

Fifty people attended
the Lights of the Lakes presentation held in the school's auditorium.
This multi media show about Great lakes lighthouses was presented
by Tech alumnus Phil Block (1971, Business Administration). This
open-invitation event drew visitors from across campus.
Mike Henricksen
(1964) was named this year's Outstanding Alumnus for 2001. He was
unable to be present to accept the award in person, however plans
are underway to present the award to him at a future School event.
For the class
of 1951, the day was a chance to reacquaint with former classmates
from 50 years ago! The school hosted a social for these foresters
and their spouses prior to an all class dinner.
