FOR THIS CLASS DISREGARD ALL THE INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE, BELOW THIS POINT...
Each class period is recorded (slideshow with audio) as a podcast. Shortly after each class period, the podcast is posted at itunesU. These podcasts allow access to class material should you miss class. The podcasts also allow you to see and hear material that is important or difficult to understand as often as you like. This is important because a large portion of the exam questions are based on material that is presented only in class.
Step 3: Click on the icon for Forestry. Then click the icon for Mammalogy.
Step 4: This window shows a list of all the podcasts that are available.
Step 5: above that list is a button that says: “subscribe.” Click it. This will cause all available podcasts from Mammalogy to appear in your “library,” which is listed on the left side of the window. It will take a few moments for itunes to download the podcast.
Step 6: In your library list, click “podcasts.” This causes a new window to appear in itunes. This list should contain all the podcasts in your library.
Step 7: Click on a podcast. Make sure the volume is turned up on your computer (or that you have head phones, if you’re in a computer lab). The video portion of the podcast appears as a small thumbnail in the lower left corner of itunes. If you do not see any video, then look for a series of 4 buttons in the lower left corner of the itunes window. One button is a square with a triangle in it. Click that button and the video should appear as a small window in lower corner of window (too small to be useful). To see the video in a larger version, click on the small video window and it will appear much larger.
Finally, for the video to work you must have installed the most recent version of itunes, which was released just a couple of weeks ago.
