    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



    A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a
    major course of study in Forestry; or



    Receipt of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or
    university with a major course of study in forestry within six (6)
    months of appointment date.



    JOB DUTIES:



    This position is stationed at the Bear Creek Tract, Lake Talquin State
    Forest administering the educational programs and the upkeep of the
    facilities, trails and grounds of the Bear Creek Educational Forest.
    Some of the duties include:



    * Coordinates and performs educational forestry programs at Bear
    Creek Educational Forest using local schools and youth
    organizations (i.e., Boy Scouts, etc.). Oversees and guides
    the continual development of the Bear Creek Educational Forest
    . Creates and maintains partnerships with local school
    districts, counties, universities and research centers.
    Develops and implements the Bear Creek Educational Forest
    curriculum and assists in securing funding sources. Acquires
    and develops educational supplies for programs at Bear Creek.
    * Develops and implements marketing strategies for educational
    and recreational opportunities on the Bear Creek Educational
    Forest. Promotes forest education programs at the Bear Creek
    Educational Forest by participating in public speaking
    engagements and local career fairs.
    * Assists in Lake Talquin State Forest’s management duties such
    as prescribed burning, inventory and timber sales.
    * Maintains assigned equipment such as vehicles, hand tools and
    computers.
    * Willingly performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
