Bachelor's//Michigan State//Internat'l Wildlife Issues




A Master of Science research assistantship is available in the Department of
Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University to a highly motivated
student concerned with the human dimensions of international wildlife
conservation. The student will be part of a research project designed to: 1)
evaluate community motivations for poaching lemur; and 2) characterize
perceptions of risk to rural livelihoods and ecosystems from poaching.
Insights gleaned from this research will inform local and global
environmental discourse about environmental risk trade-offs and how to
foster adaptive capacity for biodiversity conservation while reducing risks
to people’s livelihoods.

I am searching specifically for a student who has experience in
international environment or development, risk perception and communication,
and wildlife conservation. The qualified individual will be able to live in
remote conditions for approximately 3 months. International research
experience and French language proficiency is desirable. Send letter of
