LEVEL 1 (Presales) SUMMARY: The
incumbent is responsible for directing and implementing preparation of
timber
sales on the Spokane Reservation.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing and data
processing for
timber cruises; development of timber appraisals; preparation of timber
sales
prospectus and contract; implementation of NEPA for silvicultural
prescriptions
and timber harvest operations; and designing and directing various data
collection projects. Incumbent performs duties under the supervision of
the
Supervisory Forester (Silviculturist). Guidance is available as needed
on
unusual and/or difficult assignments; otherwise incumbent formulates
his/her
own work schedule on his/her own initiative and carries work to
completion
independently. ESSENTIAL

level training and/or CFE credits in silviculture and /or forest
ecology (15
credit hrs) o
Assist
Silviculturist in reconnaissance and layout on two different timber
sales

At
least two years of experience as forester level 2 or equivalent,
including 1
year preparing prescriptions for timber stand treatments o
Basic
supervisory training (40 hours) or supervisory experience PHYSICAL
