FORESTER VACANCY Koochiching County Land and Forestry – Northome Office
Forester Job Summary: Responsible for conducting timber sale establishment; timber sale administration; implementation of forestry development projects; involvement in recreation, wildlife management, and other multiple use resource management projects.
Applicants should be able to fulfill the following preferred minimum requirements: Education equivalent to a four year degree in Forestry/Natural Resources having a forestry curriculum, and related forestry experience; or, minimum of same two year degree along with a preferred four years of directly related forestry experience with very similar duty. The preferred applicant should possess a working knowledge of forest management, silviculture, wildlife management, principles of basic surveying, reforestation techniques, aerial photo interpretation, dendrology, forest insects and diseases, soil characteristics, practical computer, GPS/GIS field knowledge.
