Research Coordinator for the
Family Forest Research Center

The University of Massachusetts Amherst, Department of Natural Resources Conservation seeks to fill a Research Fellow position. The successful candidate will be the research coordinator for the Family Forest Research Center (FFRC; www.FamilyForestResearchCenter.org). The FFRC is a partnership between the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Department of Natural Resources Conservations and the U.S Forest Service, Northern Research Station dedicated to increasing our
understanding of family forest owners.

Position Description

The research coordinator will work with other FFRC members to study the attitudes and behaviors of family forest owners using qualitative and quantitative research techniques. The coordinator will be involved in all stages of the survey process including design, implementation, and analysis. The coordinator will assist in the development of various research projects, including the work necessary
to attract and implement grants.

Position Requirements

Qualified candidates must have at least a Master’s Degree in forestry, natural resources, sociology, economics, or an allied field. Excellent organization skills as well as good oral and written skills are required. Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative survey methods is highly desirable. GIS,
statistical, database, and web design/maintenance skills are also desirable.

Salary and benefits
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, dental, and
