Cascade Earth Sciences (CES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Valmont
Industries, Inc., is seeking a Senior
Soil Scientist in either its Bakersfield, California or Boise, Idaho
location. CES is an environmental
consulting and engineering services firm whose focus is water
management. In this challenging position
you will function as lead scientist on projects that involve land-based
natural solutions for industrial and
municipal wastewater management and treatment. Develop business to
maintain and increase our
market share in these technical areas.
Must have expertise in agricultural and environmental soil science to
assist municipal, industrial,
agriculture, and food industry clients with permitting and regulatory
negotiation; irrigation scheduling;
crop management recommendations; development of wastewater and nutrient
management plans;
subsurface discharge of treated effluent; root zone, vadose zone,
groundwater, and surface water
monitoring and analysis, and byproduct utilization. Services can include
assessment of vadose zone
processes, water balance and plant nutrient fate modeling and analysis,
groundwater-surface water
interactions, and groundwater quality assessment. Use your networking
and project visualization and
organizational skills to develop business with new and existing customers.

Requirements:
• An MS degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or closely related discipline
• Must have 5+ years of agricultural/environmental industry experience
• Must have good writing, spreadsheet (Excel), communication skills, and
people skills
• Must be able to participate in business development
• Must have demonstrated organizational skills and strong work ethic
