Greetings!

The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Wisconsin
(http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/cnnf/) is looking to hire six students at the
GS-04 level to conduct invasive species inventory and control. Three
positions will be located in Lakewood, one in Florence, and two in
Glidden. These are temporary positions with a target start date of *May
26th *working through the end of August, but we can be flexible on the
start/end dates. Students may be eligible for up to $600 for
transportation costs, and up to $700 for a housing allowance for the
employment period.

We need your help finding quality students to fill these enjoyable and
rewarding positions. *Only returning students may apply for these
positions as graduating students are not eligible*. _We need you to
collect applications from students and provide recommendations._

Please read the helpful_hints document for an overview of the hiring
process. Also included are the OF-306 and OF-612 which must be completed
by the student. We need to have applications returned by *March 13, 2009*.

*Weed Seasonal - 6 Positions*
The primary duties of this position include: control of invasive
species, inventorying invasive species locations, and monitoring of
known locations. Control methods may include: chemical control with
herbicides using backpack or truck mounted sprayers, and manual control
by pulling or hand tools. Applicants must be able to learn invasive
species of WI and willing to perform some manual labor. Invasive species
issues are gaining in prominence at all levels of government, and this
position can provide valuable experience for future employment.
