Good morning Chris,

This is Erik Nordman, from Grand Valley State University's NRM Program.
We met and talked briefly at the Society of American Foresters meeting
in Reno. I was wondering if you could do me a favor regarding a MS
assistantship opportunity I have here at GVSU.

I was awarded a grant to complete an integrated assessment of wind
energy potential here in Michigan. I have money for a graduate
assistantship. The assistantship will include a stipend ($16k /yr, 2 years) and tuition
grant. If you don't mind, please pass this opportunity along to any
qualified and interested students you may know. The description is
below.

Thanks,
Erik Nordman

MS in Biology - Natural Resources Management Graduate Assistantship:

energy; using GIS to integrate environmental, social, and economic data;
modeling possible scenarios; and helping organize stakeholder workshops.
Precise duties will depend on the applicant’s particular
qualifications and interests. The successful applicant will be admitted
to Grand Valley State University beginning in the Fall Semester 2009.
Grand Valley State University is located in Allendale, Michigan, just
west of Grand Rapids.

The successful applicant will enroll in the Master of Science degree
program in Biology with an emphasis in Natural Resources Management. The
full-time assistantship includes two years of annual stipend and a
tuition grant.

Essential qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a natural
resources management field, including environmental economics and / or
policy. Desirable qualifications include strong GIS skills, strong
written and oral communication skills, and an enthusiasm for
interdisciplinary, policy-oriented science.
