GS-101/401/801/1301-9/11

 

Salary Range: $46,625 to $56,411 (+ 23% Cost Of Living Allowance)

 

Location: Anchorage Forestry Sciences Laboratory, Anchorage, Alaska.

 

About the Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) Program in Alaska: The FIA unit at the Anchorage Forestry Sciences Laboratory plans, conducts and analyzes multi-resource inventories of Alaska’s forest lands.  We conduct research on the status and trends in forest condition and forest health.  For more information about the FIA program, please visit: http://fia.fs.fed.us/

 

About the Position:  The GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist will serve on a Program-wide GIS/Remote Sensing team composed of resource specialists at the Anchorage and Portland (Oregon) Forestry Sciences Laboratories.  Duties will include:

 

  • Coordinate GIS and remote sensing support for the Anchorage Lab
  • Develop and manage geospatial databases.
  • Provide geospatial analyses required to conduct and analyze multi-resource forest inventories and research projects.
