the Forest Inventory and Analysis
(FIA) Program in Alaska:
The FIA unit at the Anchorage Forestry Sciences Laboratory plans,
conducts and
analyzes multi-resource inventories of Alaska’s
forest lands. We conduct research on the
status and trends in forest condition and forest health.

About
the
Position: The
GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist will serve on a Program-wide GIS/Remote
Sensing
team composed of resource specialists at the Anchorage and Portland (Oregon)
Forestry
Sciences Laboratories. Duties will
include:
- Coordinate GIS and remote
sensing support for the Anchorage Lab
- Develop and manage
geospatial databases.
- Provide geospatial analyses
required to conduct and analyze multi-resource forest inventories and
research projects.
