Website Info

Folks-

I'm going to keep sending you notices we receive through our friends/alumni. It's a great way for us to get the word out. I'll stop forwarding you the jobs from the lists (ecolog, etc). Instead I'll periodically send out a note with the sites and how to subscribe. If I see something come across that is simply eye-watering--or includes the word "aquatic"--I'll send it out. Otherwise I highly recommend you subscribe to these and see what opportunities are out there. From meeting with your alum I'm aware it is incredibly important for you to go get experience during your summers. Here's a few pieces I hope will help you. Plum Creek launched a career center. To see their jobs go to www.plumcreek.apply2jobs.com

Forest Resources Association announced an online job board www.forestresources.org

Several students and a few faculty members told me about the ecolog site. It's a list serve. Go to the following place to subscribe: https://listserv.umd.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=ecolog-l&A=1

I notice Peg forwards me notes from this site: http://mailman1.u.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/forsoils
In summary:
1. I'll send this note periodically
2. Even if you are a freshman you should be considering what's out there for you
3. There are good websites and good listserves out there...utilize them.

I hope your spring break is going well. I enjoyed a nice, leisurely jog this morning--spring is rapidly approaching...

That is all. Chris
