I spoke w/ an alum recently who is a retired MI DNR wildlife biologist. He said big growth in the southeast U.S. And sure enough here is Florida. Sounds good this time of year, doesn't it?

    DESCRIPTION:

    Description

    Participate in the Fisheries-Independent Monitoring program in
    Franklin County. Duties include fisheries field sampling, processing
    field and laboratory samples following standardized protocols, and
    assisting with the maintenance and repair of sampling gears and
    research vessels used in routine fisheries monitoring. Manage
    collected data following defined procedures and enter, proof, and
    correct data using personal computers and database software. Assist
    with the identification and enumeration of species captured in
    sampling gear. Assist in analyzing data from above studies. Assist in
    the preparation of technical and scientific reports and/or
    manuscripts. Participate in public outreach efforts as appropriate.

    Qualifications
    B.S. or M.S. in one of the biological sciences, or relevant
    marine-related field experience. Knowledge of fish biology sampling
    methods and data collection; ability to operate motorboats under 25
    ft length highly desirable; this position requires extensive
    fieldwork and the ability to pull and lift heavy nets; ability to
    think logically and apply problem-solving techniques; communicate
    effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective
    working relationships; maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

    The pay rate for this position is $ 10-13 per hour depending on
    experience, no benefits included
