Forest Biometrician - Forest Carbon Project Validation & Verification Washington, DC 
First Environment, Inc., a nationally recognized environmental management and consulting firm recognized for our commitment to leadership in the environmental field is looking for an experienced Forest Biometrician to join our team in Washington, DC. A major focus of the Washington, DC office practice includes climate change, energy efficiency, and emerging environmental markets, including voluntary and compliance markets for forest carbon offset project consulting, validation and verification services. 

Responsibilities for this position include: 



· Forest carbon project validation and verification · Project management · Promotion of First Environment’s environmental markets management practice · Proposal development and management · Forest carbon project feasibility assessment · Development of project design documents 

Position Requirements include: 



· Undergraduate degree in forest management with an advanced degree in forest biometrics or equivalent. 

· 5+ years' experience and expertise in several of the following areas: 





· Forest growth and yield modeling; · Silviculture practices and modeling; · Forest management planning and harvest scheduling; · Forest inventory design and compilation; · Verification of forest carbon projects; · Forest carbon project protocol development; · Forest carbon project development. 

· Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing · Strong interpersonal and communication skills · Demonstrated marketing and business development capabilities · Strong leadership skills, outgoing nature, and ability to connect within a large network preferred. · Team player with a high degree of self motivation · Travel 50% of the time · Spanish fluency a plus · Certified Forester (CF) designation a plus
