Master's Degree. U of Idaho
September 8, 2009
Dear Colleagues:
I hope this message finds each of you well. On behalf of the faculty in the
College of Natural Resources at the University of Idaho, I write to share
information on our new graduate assistantship application process.
We request your participation in forwarding this information along to
your faculty who are working
with students interested in pursuing a master’s degree, master of
natural resources degree or doctoral degree in natural resources at the
University of Idaho.
While a prospective graduate student can submit their application for
admission at any time, the priority deadline for the College of Natural
Resources graduate student funding is January 15, 2010.
If the application for admission is received in full either on or before
the priority deadline, additional funding opportunities may be available for
travel awards - fund academically related travel needs, thus enhancing
the ability of graduate students to pursue various activities and
professional development within their fields. assistantships -
complement your formal studies through research, teaching, or
administrative work under the supervision or tutelage of a faculty or
staff member. tuition assistance - The University of Idaho offers
several thousands of dollars in merit-based scholarships in many areas
of study, tuition assistance in some technical areas of study, and
graduate assistantships on the basis of academic record and Test of
English as a Second Language (TOEFL).
diversity awards - The Office of Multicultural Affairs administers a
healthy group of awards every year to both incoming freshman and
returning students. The scholarships include both institutional monies
and private donor sources.
It is important for prospective graduate students to submit the
application as soon as possible to secure funding. Please make note of
this deadline, as it is not to be confused with the University of
Idaho’s February 1, 2010 general graduate student application deadline.
For more information on our available assistantships and deadlines,
please visit our Web site at www.uidaho.edu/cnrgradassistance. Of
course, you can contact me at anytime should you have any questions.
Special note: Calendar event - Graduate School Information Day is Oct.
9, 2009. For more information and a link to our registration page,
