Job Description:
Subject to Available Funding The Department of Earth and Environmental
Studies invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate
Professor in Environmental Remediation. The successful applicant will
play a pivotal role in further developing the PhD program in
Environmental Management.
We are seeking a broadly trained environmental scientist specializing in
remediation of the contaminated environment; a colleague who will
complement ongoing environmental management research with areas of
specialties including, but not limited to: phytoremediation,
bioremediation, microbial ecology, plant-soil processes, and risk
assessment. The successful candidate is expected to garner external
research support.
Responsibilities for this position include teaching graduate and
undergraduate courses such as Environmental Remediation, Environmental
Risk Assessment, Environmental Biotechnology. Advising PhD students in
Environmental Management and MA students in Environmental Sciences and
Sustainability is required. Service to the department, university and
larger professional community is expected.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Candidates must have a PhD in Environmental Sciences or a related field.
Post-doctoral experience is highly desirable. Evidence of peer-reviewed
scholarship, potential success in grant activity, and potential
excellence in teaching will be viewed favorably. Faculty rank will
reflect the depth and range of the candidate's experiences.
Salary Range:
Salary and range is dependent on qualifications.
