POSITION: Graduate Research Assistant (Ph.D.), 0.5 time
Soil and Environmental Chemistry

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: A graduate research assistantship is available
immediately for a
project involves significant utilization of standard inorganic and
microbial analysis as well as advanced spectroscopic analysis.
The successful candidate will perform research to understand the
influence of variable redox conditions on biogeochemical
transformations of Pb and Zn in subsurface environments.
QUALIFICATIONS: M.S. degree in Soil Science, Environmental Geochemistry or
related discipline. Strong laboratory skills are a requirement and
broad interests in molecular biogeochemistry is highly desirable
for this position. Demonstrated excellence in course work, good
written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work as a
team member are also required.
STIPEND AND FEES: Minimum annual stipend is $ 23,972 with health insurance
available. Graduate Research Assistants are considered Kansas
residents for tuition purposes and annual tuition and fees range
from $1,800 to $4,000, depending on total credit hours.
