Steigerwaldt Land Services, Inc. is a full service Forestry and Appraisal company located in North Central Wisconsin. We are currently looking to fill a new full-time permanent forester position. This is considered an entry level position working under the direction of a Project Forester or other senior staff member. The initial 4-6 months of employment may be based out of Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Following this period the position may be permanently based out of Hayward, Wisconsin.
The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry
- Desire to develop a career as a professional forester in a fast-paced and diverse consulting business
- Experienced in Lake States forest inventory practices
- Experienced in Lake States forest management and harvesting techniques
- Ability to work independently in varied settings both in the field and with clients and other professionals
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Competent with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Access
- Experience with GPS data collecting and processing
- Experience with ESRI ArcView 9.x GIS software and GIS mapping and data collection principles
- Ability to travel and conduct overnight work away from the Tomahawk office
- Current valid drivers license with personal vehicle suitable for forestry work (mileage is reimbursed)
- Interest in involvement in professional organizations to further education and develop working relationships with other professional foresters

Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary duties will include conducting forest inventory, timber sale set-up work, and assisting with general forest management tasks in Northern Wisconsin.
