Humans
and the Forest
Have you ever stopped to wonder why it is
important for us to have forests? Of course they give us timber
and other wood products to build houses. They also provide us
with paper to write, draw, and
do hundreds of other things with. But what else do forests do for
us?
Without forests, we wouldn't
have air to breathe, our soils wouldn't have the nutrients to grow,
and the animals that make up a part of our ecosystem wouldn't exist.
Check out the links below to find out just how much we rely on healthy
forests for so many parts of our lives.
Of course, if we don't take
care of our forests, nothing in these links will be available for
us in the future. To learn about what scientists, conservationists,
and industry stakeholders are doing to help preserve the forests
