North American Forest Biology Workshop
July 12-15, 2004
Michigan Technological University
Houghton, Michigan, U.S.A.

Student Participation
The North American Forest Biology Workshop encourages student participation. Significant discounts are offered to students registering for the meeting. Also, the NAFBW offers a friendly, supporting environment for students giving papers for the first time and students are encouraged to present findings from their work.

For the Houghton meeting, we will be offering dormitory rooms for about $16 per night. Plus, there are numerous, low-cost eateries in town with almost everything within walking distance of campus. Additional establishments are available across Portage Lake in Hancock, 1 mile to the north. Regularly scheduled bus transportation is available between these two waterfront towns.

For a limited number of students who will commit to working 14 hours at the meeting and who fulfill this commitment, we will be offering a refund of registration fees. These students will be asked to help with registration, audio-visual equipment, room lighting controls, transporting guests to and from the airport, and other miscellaneous tasks. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, contact Dr. King at the earliest opportunity to assure a slot.
