Faculty International Exchange Initiative
Proposals will be accepted annually through April 15th, no more than two new proposals will be funded each fiscal year (July 1 – June 30)

Through this initiative ESC will fund projects focused on the scholarly development of ESC faculty and staff to develop the international stature of ESC faculty and staff.
Funded projects will be in one of three categories:
1) The International Scholars-in-Residence (ISIR) Program - The primary aim of an exchange is the development of a specific collaborative project.
2) The Symposium Initiative - The primary aim of a Symposium Initiative is to develop a specific collaborative project to be led by the ESC member
3) International Travel -This project category consists of an ESC member traveling to a foreign institution to attend a professional meeting to advance their career. |

Graduate Student Training grants are to enable graduate students to travel for educational enhancement via participation in formal short courses or informal lab exchanges for training at other institutions. Funding is limited and awards will be made competitively based on merit and need.
Application deadlines are 5 weeks prior to the start day of fall, spring and summer semesters. Each graduate student is eligible for one training grant per year. |

Graduate Travel Grants
Graduate Student Travel grants are to assist with the costs of travel either to
1) national & international
scientific meetings to present research or
2) to a short course to learn new skills not available here at MTU.
Funding is limited and awards will be made competitively based on merit and need. Application deadlines fall semester: Last Friday of September.
Application deadlines Spring: First Friday of April.

Graduate Research Grants
Research grants for graduate students are intended to supplement existing resources, allowing graduate students to perform research they would not be able to attempt due to funding limitations.

Undergraduate Research Grants
Undergraduate research grants allow students to perform
independent research projects under the guidance of faculty or research staff mentors. Allowable costs
include lab supplies, sample analysis fees, field equipment, and travel to research sites.
Application deadlines fall semester: First Friday of Dec.
Application deadlines Spring: First Friday of March.
