The Birkie. An annual trip. Registration for 2013 is already closed but if you are already entered we can help with travel and lodging. Feb 22, 2013.

Feb 23. Glide'n'Gorge, an easy 6km classic ski as the Maasto Hiihto trails. Food served along the way. This is an official club trip so you can use club skis at this event.

Saturday, March 8, The 34th Annual Great Bear Chase in Calumet Michigan. Your choice of 6 races:

50km Classic
50km Freestyle
25km Classic
25km Freestyle
10km Classic
10km Freestyle

Registration is only $50 ($20 for the 10 km) if you register by December 31.

 

Training and Race Team every other week.

 

2014 WAX ROOM HOURS :

WAX ROOM CLOSES FOR THE SEASON ON SUNDAY, APRIL 13 AT 6 P.M.

NEW ROOM LOCATION FOR 2014: Our wax room is accessed by the Community Entrance to the wax building. We are in the little room just to the left of the community room as you enter. We now store our equipment in Rooms 9 and 10.

Open noon to 8 every day except Monday we open at 1:30 and Wednesday we open at 12:30.

If you want to join the ski club the annual dues are $10. You can join by going to the club's wax room (The small room just off of the community room, accessed via the Community Entrance to the wax building at Tech Trails) whenever the wax room is open. Correct change is appreciated.

* 58 pairs of skis, both classic and skate. Also, snowshoes.

* a kilometer klub (10K per week gets your name in the hat for the weekly prize),

* discounted trail passes at local ski areas (student members only)

* free day use of equipment at Tech Trails for members. We have both skate and classic skis. We also have snowshoes.

* skiing with others who like MTU's great snow!

* training / racing team. The training team has lessons for novices, intermediate skiers and beyond.

* storage for members' personal skis

* our own room in the wax building with scheduled hours. We have irons, benches and wax so you can wax your own skis.

* community service projects working with Adult Ski Lessons and work days at local ski trails. Fall 2013 we worked at Swedetown. Fall 2011 we worked at Maasto.

$10 for an annual membership. Open to students and community members. Correct change is appreciated.
