Wildlife conservation and forest management go hand in hand. Forests provide wildlife species with food,
cover, water, and space. Management activities change the quantity, quality, and distribution of these habitat
features. As a result, certain wildlife will be favored in forests at different stages of succession.
Enhancing and retaining features through forest management can allow for greater species abundance for
both plants and animals.
XI Sigma Pi is a service organization that provides tutoring in classes at the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science. If you would like to meet for a private session contact:janowiak@mtu.edu
XI Pi also runs the School Library in Room G003 with resource books in a variety of subjects that can be checked out anytime.
XI Sigma Pi also host the annual Symposium. The symposium offers a time for the public, students and resource professionals to get together and discuss an important topic. Symposium is important for all resource managers to explore new areas, technologies or problems facing them.
